I’ve been meaning to make a quick comment in the blog regarding Dragon’s microphone sensitivity, particularly as it relates to version 10.x. Prior to version 10 it seemed that one could control the microphone by voice by saying “go to sleep” and “wake up” or “listen to me”. Once asleep or in standby mode, Dragon would remain so until you spoke the magic words to activate it.
Unfortunately, with Version 10.x, while in a sleep state, if Dragon “hears” anything that remotely sounds like those magic words, it will activate, leaving you with unintended text on your screen or even recognized inadvertent commands. While not catastrophic, some have found this annoying.
I suggest you use a keyboard shortcut to toggle the microphone on and off if possible. Alternatively, use the “microphone off” voice command and the keyboard shortcut to toggle the microphone on. Set the keyboard shortcut toggle in Dragon’s Tools> Options> Hot keys.
