As I was experimenting with Dragon NaturallySpeaking Professional version 11 the other day, I encountered the following error message. I suspect it may become the source of some confusion for our clients, even though it is quite benign and simply a message (albeit some attention may be in order).
The error message is:
“One or more of Dragon’s scheduled tasks failed to run. Make sure that, at the scheduled time, the computer is on but Dragon is not running (note that this includes Dragon running in QuickStart mode – see the Help for details). …”

Dragon Scheduled Task Failed to Run
I had set the Acoustic & Language Model Optimizer (aka Accuracy Tuning) to run at a time when my computer was not typically on (as I said, I was experimenting).
If you see this message, verify the time scheduled for Accuracy Tuning.
- If your computer is typically on at that time but was not at this time for some other reason, then you can choose to ignore this message (possibly clicking Do not display this message again).

Dragon Scheduled Task Failed to Run - ignore
- If your computer is not typically on at this time, change the scheduled time of Accuracy Tuning to a time when your computer is on. However, you may not even need to regularly schedule the Accuracy Tuning.
See Section K.5 (page 166) of the Speakeasy Solutions Training Workbook for Dragon 11 — specifically, the bottom of page 167 for the subsection on scheduling Accuracy Tuning to run later.
Remember, you may not need to run Accuracy Tuning monthly. Please feel free to speak directly with myself (Alexandria) regarding the appropriate use of this feature for you.

This is a very interesting article, thank you. I have a user on v 10 Legal who is getting the “Accuracy Tuning task did not run” message.
We are an International law firm which has been trying to introduce voice recognition firmwide for a few years now. We are about to update our current Dragon users to v 11 (just got it in-house). I’ll be looking for more tips from Speakeasy and maybe can even contribute some.
