The symptom? When you are making a correction or using the Spelling Window and say “choose (1 – 9)”, Dragon will do nothing or confuse itself with a similarly sounding command. Restarting Dragon may help, but who has time?

However, fear not. With Dragon NaturallySpeaking Professional or Legal version 11, simply create a Global command that will always work — whether Dragon is feeling up to being responsive or not.  If you have Dragon NaturallySpeaking Premium version 11, say “press alt (1-9)”.

I’ve been using Dragon since the version 2 days and every version does have its various improvements. Please note the following important UPGRADE information:

Speakeasy Solutions highly advises creating a new V11 Dragon user profile, rather than using an upgraded/converted V9 or V10 user profile. This will yield best results with the software.

You can make use of your custom commands and custom word lists from an upgraded user profile, and import these into a new V11 user profile (note: Preferred users cannot export their text commands).

Meeting the minimum PC specifications is imperative, but the best time to buy the upgrade is during the SPECIAL pricing period (even if you shelve the upgrade until you have a new computer).

If you presently have Version 9, we highly encourage you to upgrade to Version 11 now, even if you do not plan on using the upgrade immediately. Once the special pricing is over, you will pay the price of a regular V11 upgrade in future or have to pay the price of the full Version 12 when that is released (upgrades are only valid for the two previous versions).
