Speakeasy Solutions Inc. studies existing workflow patterns, and offers suggestions for improvements and integration (or replacement) with digital voice dictation. We encourage the involvement of a select group of IT/IS staff, and possibly several enthusiastic dictators, transcriptionists, and managers.
Speech-Enabling Analysis Speakeasy Solutions Inc. will assess an existing workstation and software for speech-enabling, thereby providing a user with a higher level of access as well as usability.
Speakeasy Solutions Inc. meets with appropriate personnel and temporarily installs Dragon NaturallySpeaking on a PC station for testing and assessment purposes. Someone conversant with the testing software and how it will be used should be in attendance or at least available during this procedure.
Software is tested for two factors: proficiency of dictation and potential for custom voice command creation. A written report can also be submitted.
Dragon NaturallySpeaking Trial Speakeasy Solutions Inc. can determine the suitability of speech recognition for individuals with accents or speech impediments.
Speakeasy Solutions Inc. meets with the potential speech recognition user and sets up a Dragon NaturallySpeaking profile on Speakeasy Solutions Inc.'s portable notebook computer. Several tests are performed to determine whether or not the user is comfortable with speech recognition, as well as whether or not Dragon NaturallySpeaking will effectively adapt to the user's voice.
Please note that Dragon NaturallySpeaking Professional creates profiles based on the following accents: UK English, Australian English, Indian English, Inland Northern US (Great Lakes area), Southern US, Southeast Asian English, and Spanish. Dragon NaturallySpeaking Medical creates profiles based on the following accents only: Indian English. The benefits of the Medical vocabulary are tremendous, however, the use of Dragon NaturallySpeaking Medical may not be effective for individuals with very strong accents other than Indian. A guided trial of Dragon NaturallySpeaking would be useful in determining whether or not Professional or Medical should be acquired.
