V2.xx
is valid for LFH3200, LFH3210, LFH3220, LFH3300, LFH3310, LFH3500, LFH3510,
LFH3520, LFH3600, LFH3610
V2.56
technical release 2017-07-27
Now
left and right mouse button work also in Keyboard mode. String descriptor indexes greater than the
allowed ones are filtered now.
V2.55
technical release 2016-03-14
Decreased
the two-buttons switch time between Keyboard-Command and HID-Command mode to 3
secs. Modified I2C-bus protocol handling to avoid corruption of LFH
number. Modified transfer of new firmware version into EEPROM to avoid
corruption of internal flash memory and render the device nonfunctional.
V2.54
technical release 2015-10-23
Modfified the audio streaming in record
mode for 16KHz sampling rate to solve audio problems with the new Apple OSX ‘El
Capitan’(10.11).
V2.53
technical release 2015-06-08
The
motion detection is also effective in Keyboard mode now. Requesting the history
of past button press events is possible now. The default setting of ‘Disable
PC-screen-saver’ can be turned off/on now by simultaneously pressing the left
mouse button and trackball button for five seconds.
V2.51
technical release 2014-12-17
The
polling rate for the HID-interface, which is reporting the keypress events, has
been increased from 10 to 16 frames. This is just an attempt to help a customer
who is complaining about intermittent SpeechMagic
problems. The source-code has not been changed! Only the USB-descriptor for the
HID-interface reports a polling rate of 16 frames to the USB-host. The USB-host
is not obliged to poll at exactly 16ms, but must not poll any faster than the
reported value of 16ms.
V2.50
technical release 2014-11-03
Fixed a rare problem, where the accelerator
sensor reported a picked-up event even when the device was sitting motionless on
a table top.
The
USB-interface is reinitialized every time an audio stream is started to avoid
lost recordings.
Introduction of Keyboard-mode: when selected,
the device sends keyboard shortcut events to the host instead of the propriatory HID commands when a button is pressed. Works only with SMP versions.
V2.19
technical release 2014-03-28
Fixed
a problem, where moving the mouse trackball during OS booting causes the device
to stop working after the boot process has finished.
V2.18
technical release 2014-02-14
Fixed
a problem where communication problems within the device stopped the device
to respond to pressed buttons or trackball movements.
Under
some rare circumstances the USB driver on the host missed a button or slider
event. Each button and slider event is now sent twice to avoid these
situations.
The
polling rate of the HID-interface, which handles Speechmike proprietary information, has been changed from
8msec intervals to 4msec intervals to avoid occasional connecting problems with
hosts, where a Speechmike-aware application is
already running.
The
handling of audio settings has been changed in V2.15, which causes occasional
delays when starting speech recognition with Dragon Dictate. V2.18 reverts now
to the former method to avoid these delays.
Linux
does not poll unused USB interfaces of a device (which is against
specification). This can cause problems, when no Speechmike-aware application is running, and a button is
pressed unintentionally. In that case the Speechmike
will wait until a Speechmike-aware application is
started, and will not react to trackball movements till then. This has been
fixed.
A
level limiter has been implemented in record mode to reduce signal
overdrive.
V2.15
technical release 2013-07-01
Fixed
a problem where communication problems within the device stopped the device
to respond to pressed buttons or trackball movements.
V2.13
technical release 2013-04-04
Fixed
a problem which caused corruption of the barcode-table in barcode scanner Speechmikes and also made the Speechmike becoming irresponsible to buttons, slider and
mouse commands.
Decreased
the communication speed of the keyboard interface on Speechmikes with barcode scanner to minimize the risk of
losing part of the scanned character string
when the PC-CPU is extremely busy.
Fixed
a problem which caused an asynchronicity between the position of the slider
switch and the position recognized by the host SW.
The
minimum volume position will mute the device also under Windows 7, like it did
under Windows XP.
V2.10
technical release 2012-10-25
Sending of motion events is automatically
disabled in FW when SMP is initialized by a PC-SW that does not support motion
events.
Modified
the USB communication protocol between PC and SMP to fix timing
issues.
Fixed a problem where the internal trackball
sensor stopped working when the trackball was moved vigorously during
initialization of the Speechmike.
Fixed
an issue with microphone sensitivity when the motion control configuration was
changed during operation.
V2.08
technical release 2012-09-03
Older PC-software recognizes the SpeechMike
Premium as a SpeechMike III for compatibility
reasons. Because of that it was possible to downgrade a Premium device to an
older 1.xx FW-version, rendering the device dead - this problem is fixed
now.
Suppressed the first static motion sensor
event to avoid interference with initialization routines from older PC-software
after device is plugged in or reset after a firmware
upgrade.
HID
interfaces are configured only once now.
V2.05
technical release 2012-08-02
This version supports – beside the ‘classic’
line of SpeechMike III – also the new range of SpeechMike III Premium. This includes new features like
position detection, scrolling up/down and additional
buttons.
V1.xx
is valid for LFH3200, LFH3210, LFH3220, LFH3300, LFH3310
V1.17
technical release 2012-05-23
Changed
protocol for handling HID-commands to improve stability on fast PC
platforms.
Now host requests are acknowledged after the request has been processed by the
device.
V1.15
technical release 2012-02-21
Introduction
of a 'SMII-compatibility-mode'.
Changing modes is done by pressing F1 + F3 buttons simultaneously for more than
five seconds. The F2-Led will light for five seconds afterwards when switching
to 'SMII-mode', and accordingly the F3-Led when going back to 'SMIII-mode. A
short beep will finally acknowledge the operation. Firmware upgrade and
assigning new functionalities to buttons is not possible when in SM2
mode.
Muting time for switch click suppression
increased from 40ms to 60ms.
V1.14
technical release 2011-08-18
Users of the Dragon Systems Speech Recognition
Engine reported delayed output of recognized text in connection with a SpeechMike III.
This issue could be fixed by modifying the
switch click suppression.
V1.13
technical release 2011-07-14
Fixed a problem under Linux, where the slider
versions of SMIII (LFH3210,LFH3220,LFH3310) were not
recognized.
Added a third selectable audio sample rate of
16KHz to resolve streaming issues on the Apple platform with 22050Hz and 44100Hz
sampling rate.
Changed timing to resolve issues on certain
platforms with the Philips proprietary HID-interface (SpeechExec hanging at startup, unreliable operation during
dictation).
V1.11
technical release 2011-05-25
Because
of a changed timing of the HID-command interface, commands were lost under some
special circumstances. Doubling the size of the HID-command queue buffer fixed
the problem
V1.10
technical release 2011-05-24
Several
issues have been fixed compared to the previous version:
Some
customers reported long boot times with their Dell-PCs when a Speechmike
III was connected – fixed
Sometimes
recording sensitivity was still too low for the SpeechMagic wizard – upper limit has been increased for an
additional +3dB
Device
wizard hangs when started right after scanning a barcode – fixed
Some
customers reported a startup problem of SpeechExec
with an attached Speechmike III - fixed
V1.02
technical release 2010-11-10
Nuance
reported a problem where the Audio Wizard of SpeechMagic was not able to adjust the recording
sensitivity when the input speech was low.
An
increase of +6dB of the upper limit of the adjustment range fixed the problem,
while still working fine with Dragon.
V1.01
technical release 2010-07-20
Fixed
problem where muting of button clicks interfered with muting of audio channel
initiated by host, which caused problems with Dragon Speech
Recognition.
Modified
break-points of slider-switch-modes on slider models.
V1.00
technical release 2010-06-24
Initial version
